Sway Lamp.

Sway Lamp.

Indoor + Outdoor Mobile Lamp

Sway by Nick Rennie is a totally new concept in floor lamp design. This modern light is not tethered to any power cable or outlet. It is completely free to move about and for the customer to determine its placement, as an interior floor lamp or outdoor light. The globular base which teeters back and forth when knocked, delivers an unexpected playful edge. The Sway lamp’s paired back design is graceful in its simplicity, having presence whether it is still or when swaying on its globular base. As it is cordless and re-chargeable, its used as an outdoor light or for interior settings, making it versatile as well as decorative. The lamp is driven by easy-to-use touch-tap technology and includes an LED light. The floor lamp offers customers five lighting options from warm to white settings. The Sway lamp is an award-winning Australian design.

A leading figure in the current Australian design landscape, Nick Rennie (through his studio ‘happy finish design’), looks to explore design that takes its inspiration from interaction with everyday items. To breathe new life into the repetition of domesticity, and to do it in a way that engages the user and elicits an emotional reaction, is the very essence of Rennie’s professional ambition. For him, design is a shared process, the finished product owing equally to the vision of a manufacturer, the needs of a user and his own passion for expression. Nick has worked with leading international design brands such as Normann Copenhagen, Porro and Ligne Roset among many others.
